Jodi Banks, of Wodonga, took her two children and their two cousins from Wangaratta to the WAVES swimming pool in Wodonga.
“They had an absolute ball,” she said.
Ms Banks said it was wonderful for the children to cool down and have fun the old- fashioned way.
“I remember as a child going to the pool, having a picnic and being in the water all day,” she said.
Meanwhile, Scott Collings travelled up from Pakenham to spend the weekend at Lake Hume with his wife and three children.

“Spent time in the water, spent time with the kids,” he said.
The temperature dropped back to 30 yesterday, where it will stay today before going back up to 32 tomorrow and 35 on Wednesday.
