A Yackandandah man, 31, was later charged with trafficking the drug, possessing a controlled weapon and ammunition and driving an unregistered car.
He faced an out-of-sessions remand hearing at the Wodonga police station last night and was released on $200 surety to face Wodonga Magistrates Court on February 11.
Yackandandah Leading Sen-Constable Luke Millar said police had stopped a sedan in Yackandandah about 10am. Two knives and 20 grams of amphetamine were found in it.
He said the 20 grams of amphetamine had a street value of about $20,000.
