TWO boats with a combined value of $33,000 were stolen on the same night from Wangaratta businesses located just 100 metres apart.

Wangaratta Detective Sen-Constable Neal Thompson said a $25,000, 4.9-metre Stacer Bowrider was taken from West City Marines in Ashmore Street on Saturday morning.

A speed boat valued at $8000 was taken from Adams Drilling in Bickerton Street nearby.

“We believe the two offences are related,” Sen-Constable Thompson said. “We just don’t get boats taken from 100 metres apart.”

He said two cars would have been needed to tow the boats.

Anyone with information should phone Wangaratta police on (03) 5723 0888.
