Constable Renee Henderson said a security guard asked four teenagers to leave the plaza about 6pm after they were alleged to have stolen slushies from Donut King.
Constable Henderson said the teenagers, aged 14 and 15, pushed the guard, an Albury man, 32, in the chest and hit him on the neck.
She said three ran off while one was escorted from the premises by the guard.
“The guard was uninjured, but shaken up by it,” Constable Henderson said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident should phone police on (02) 6049 2600.
