Most of the SP AusNet customers were without electricity between 2.30am and 4.50am after a high voltage power line feed into the area stopped.
The blackout affected a residential area including Menzies, Barton and Chifley streets, as well as in Deakin Court.
An SP AustNet spokesman said there had been difficulties for staff accessing the estate’s underground electricity network that had caused a delay in identifying the fault and restoration of power.
“We dispatched crews as soon as we were alerted to it,” he said.
