Mount Beauty Leading Sen-Constable Peter Dilley said he stopped the driver, 20, on the Kiewa Valley Highway at Dederang at 9am on Sunday.
“He had attended the races and the hotel afterwards and did stay the night in the camping site, but the next morning was still over the limit, which is so easy to do,” Sen-Constable Dilley said.
The P-plater blew .08. His licence was suspended for six months and he received a $450 fine.
