Selection data report

The following data represents the selection standard for Round 1, Undergraduate offers for 2014. This list may differ from the printed VTAC Guide. Since being published VTAC has been advised of a number of new and cancelled courses.
New courses are included in this table. Cancelled courses have been removed. For a complete list of course amendments refer to “What’s new” at http://www.vtac.edu.au/whatsnew.html
What is selection data?
The term Selection data is defined as group of data columns that include:
• The Clearly in ATAR
• The percentage below the clearly in ATAR
• The totals.
The Clearly in ATAR
The clearly-in ATAR is the point at or above which all ranked (eligible) applicants who applied for a particular course were made an offer for that course.
Other symbols used under the heading of clearly-in ATAR
• Range of Criteria (RC)
The RC indicator is used for courses that select using a range of criteria in addition to the ATAR. The selection criteria used for current year 12 students is listed under selection mode in each course entry in CourseSearch on the VTAC website.
• Not available (n/a)
When a course has fewer than 10 offers for current year 12 students; it is difficult to calculate an accurate reflection of the selection standard. As a result ‘n/a’ is listed beside the course entry.
Where more than 10 offers have been made and an ‘n/a’ is published, applicants are advised to contact the institution directly to discuss their situation.
• ‘-’ indicates that no data is available for this course.
The percentage of offers below the clearly-in ATAR
The percentage of offers below the clearly-in indicates the percentage of all current year 12 ranked offers made to students with an actual ATAR lower than the clearly-in ATAR.
 For example:
If the % of offers below the clearly-in ATAR is 25%, then 25% of current year 12 students with an actual
ATAR lower than the clearly-in ATAR received an offer from that course.
The clearly in ATAR is based on the actual ATAR a student receives. Offers made to applicants below the clearly in ATAR take into account additional bonus points which an applicant may be eligible for as part of one of the many institutional access and equity schemes, middle-band statements or regional access schemes.
This means, in some cases, the clearly-in ATAR may be lower than the previously published minimum ATARs on government and institutional websites.
Totals
The number of total offers indicates the number of offers made to all applicants across all rounds (including the early offer round, offers made to unranked applicants through the negotiated offer process or one of the many access and equity schemes).
These totals do not represent the number of places accepted by applicants or the number of places available within the course.
Note: Data from Charles Sturt University is based on the home state’s calculation of the cut-off and not the Victorian selection data process.
• Year 12 Offers indicates the number of ranked offers made to all current year 12 students.
