After being in the top six for most of the season, the Cricket Albury-Wodonga club has dropped to seventh position in recent weeks and face a tough run home against North Albury, St Patrick’s, East Albury and Wodonga Raiders.
O’Brien is eager to bounce back strongly against Hoppers after losing to Belvoir at Kelly Park on the weekend.
“It was disappointing because we knew we could chase that score and we should have got the runs,” O’Brien said.
“Blokes like myself didn’t make any and others made starts and didn’t go on with it.
“It’s proving to be an even competition and if we play well we can get back in there (top six).”
O’Brien said recruit John Pratt was outstanding against the Eagles.
“He hits the ball hard, but times it well too,” he said.
“He’s been good.”
