Swimmers have eyes only on medals

THE Traralgon Swimming Club is set to make a splash in the country swimming titles at WAVES this weekend.

The 87-member team started strongly yesterday under head coach Brian Ford and is primed for more medals as the action hots up in the pool.

Border clubs are keen not to be outdone, and have also kicked off in style.

GT Aquatics swimmer Matt Ward led the way on day one by winning gold in the multi-class 50-metre breaststroke.

The Albury Swimming Club’s 12 years’ boys relay team of Isaac Cassidy, Max Archer, Bailey Clemson and Austin Shepherd also picked up a gold medal.
