DIANE and Paull Gordon-Cooke find comfort in the knowledge their son Blake's life will never, ever, have been in vain.
Blake would have turned two this Tuesday.
Instead, his parents will be left to blow out the birthday candles on his cake without him.
Blake was just 19-months-old when he passed away in September last year.
Blake had Down Syndrome but appeared to be healthy until, at 13 months, he developed a chesty cough.
Tests revealed Blake had two holes in his heart, secondary pulmonary hypertension and a mystery, still undiagnosed, rare interstitial lung disease.
Diane and Paull miss their "little angel" every day but know he's busy working some miracles.
Blake's Million Smiles Facebook page has more than 3000 likes with his story touching the hearts of people around the globe.
"Blake is getting the message out there," Diane said.
"Blake is the face and the little guy people are looking at going, 'Wow, this kid had a problem and it wasn't known'.
"So he's like a little mascot for helping getting the heart information out there."

A song written in honour of Blake's short life will be released on iTunes this weekend with money raised to be donated to HeartKids Victoria.
The track Let Your Angel Fly was written and recorded by Melbourne musician John Trager.
The track will be available for download on iTunes but people can also pre-order a CD through http://heartkidsvictas.org.au/pre-order-your-let-your-angel-fly-cd/.
"And on Valentine's Day it's Sweethearts Day for HeartKids," Diane said.
"So we'll have a stand in the Marketplace selling CDs and other HeartKids merchandise.
"We will have signed CDs from John Trager."
Diane and Paull are inviting the Bendigo community to help celebrate their son's second birthday with a picnic at Lake Weeroona this Sunday.
"Although his birthday will not be at all as we imagined we will certainly be celebrating his wonderful life," they wrote on Facebook.
"On Sunday the 2nd of February there will be a gathering to celebrate his beautiful life, we will celebrate his 2nd birthday, he will never be forgotten.
"As we did months ago it is again an open invitation to anyone who would like to join us ... we will be at Lake Weeroona under the big cover near the playground.
"We are not catering or organising anything other than of course a birthday cake so it's BYO everything including chairs.
"Bring a picnic or there are barbecues."
Dianne and Paull will be at Lake Weeroona for Blake's celebration from 11am on Sunday.
