The Albury resident has been growing the flowers for more than 20 years, but said she’d never seen one like this.
Mrs Moskovic, 69, discovered her sunflower with 23 blooms on the one stem, and said it was a great experience seeing it develop.
“It was absolutely beautiful watching it grow,” she said.
“It started off as just a small seed, so it was nice to watch it grow like that.”
She said the sunflower was struggling in the heat, but she hoped to see it fully develop.
Mrs Moskovic said she didn’t know the secret to the bloom, but she’d love to find out.
All her other sunflowers had just one bloom per stem.
Wodonga TAFE Horticulture teacher Deb Delahunty said the unusual plant may be the result of many factors.
“Lots of things could have caused it,” she said.
“It could have been spray damage, insect damage or genetic variations.”
Mrs Moskovic first grew sunflowers in Queensland more than 20 years ago.
She moved to Sydney and then Albury, where she has lived for 13 years.
Although Mrs Delahunty said the blooms were “not unheard of”, she said it was good for everyone to be taking pride in what they grow.
“If you enjoy your garden, that’s great,” she said.
