The Reg Morley Walk is at Sumsion Gardens, and Mr Morley, 92, is one of three veterans to be recognised.
Tracks have also been named after Ken Adamson and Ted Macklin, with Mr Morley being overjoyed by the recognition.
“It’s so great,” he said.
“I’m the only one left so it’s nice to be around.”
Mr Morley said he was yet to walk the track due to the hot weather.
“I had a look at it before, it’s a very long run,” he said.
Mr Morley has been heavily involved with the community since he moved to Wodonga in 1943.
He ran a night security service in Albury-Wodonga for 12 years from 1958, and has been a member of the Wodonga Rotary Club for more than 40 years.
Mr Morley won Wodonga Council’s Eagle Award in 2007 and has volunteered at the Community Education Centre since retiring from full-time employment in 1989.
Recently, Mr Morley has been playing music and his old records at Westmont Aged Care Services.
“There was around 40 people there on the weekend. They were loving it,” he said.
Last year Mr Morley started a weekly meeting for widows and widowers in the Border region.
He said about 18 people usually met on Mondays for a coffee at the Huon Hill Tavern in Wodonga.
