MEGAS Music Store is holding the event, in conjunction with Wodonga Council, to give the students a chance to experience performing in public.
It’s also an opportunity to make known its new High Street address after a move last month.
Owner Pete Gleeson said he had been holding similar events out the front of his previous store for the past 17 years, attracting up to 300 people.
“It’s really for the students — so they can play in public and it gives them an outlook on the types of music available for them,” he said.
Students include Catholic College Wodonga band General Dream, 11-year-old acoustic guitar player Kayla Smith and classic guitar player Tim Adkins.
Vocal trainer Vanessa Sunde, the Wodonga Brass Band and choir Vital Voices will also perform.
Music veteran Rodney Vincent will give a talk.
Mr Gleeson said the event would be a low-key picnic for people of all ages starting at 7pm.
