The draft plan brings together almost 60 reports from the past 10 years.
It will now be the subject of a five-week public consultation period with residents invited to have their say on all aspects of a plan that will, in turn, inform developers and state and federal governments as to how Wodonga Council will provide for new and existing businesses to become part of the city’s new heart.
Some of that new investment has already been made; The Cube, Quest Apartments and Huon Hill pub have already been completed, alongside city infrastructure including road upgrades.
But there will be a new wave of investment, coinciding with development of the Mann shopping centre project and the next stage of Junction Place.
It is timely for the council to bring together these reports on Wodonga’s redevelopment to give a clear picture of how the city will look in 20 years and how it will get there.
It is also appropriate to consult with the community to ensure they are on board with the council’s vision for the city’s future.
