Mount Beauty’s Jocelyn Rixon-Zonnenbergs, who will study biomedicine at Monash University, and Tawonga’s Tess Teychenne, who is doing a course in health sciences-clinical prosthetics and orthotics at La Trobe University in Melbourne, received the scholarships.
It is the first time Kiewa Mitta Murray Community Enterprises Limited, which operates the Bendigo Bank’s Mount Beauty branch and Corryong agency, has offered the scholarships.
Ms Rixon-Zonnenbergs will receive $10,000 to help cover two years of study costs, while Ms Teychenne will benefit from $36,000 worth of assistance over three years.
The latter help includes a $6000 a year credit from La Trobe University towards on-campus accommodation.
Scholarships for studies beginning next year will be promoted from the middle of this year through the bank’s website, branch and agency.
