ADAM Probert has been described by his girlfriend of 15 years as a likeable person unlikely to get into arguments.
“Adam was very reserved. He was outgoing with me,” Colleen Larkin said in evidence to the hearing yesterday.
“He used to bring a lot of joy and happiness to me.
“He was just a gorgeous person, so happy.”
But Ms Larkin said Mr Probert had changed in the 12 months before his death.
He became moody towards her but there was no indication as to what had caused the change.
“The first six months it was only occasional,” Ms Larkin said.
But his mood swings had occurred more regularly in the six months before his death.
She had ended their relationship a short time before his death.
Ms Larkin said Mr Probert loved his job and to her knowledge, he had no enemies.
It was her belief that someone broke into his unit and stabbed him.
“I don’t believe it was suicide,” Ms Larkin said.
She believed a detective had indicated to her that Mr Probert may have been murdered.
Officer in charge of the investigation, Det-Sen-Constable Troy Martin, said no such comment would have been made.
