DAMIEN Hardwick and Nathan Buckley have both given Wangaratta a big thumbs up.
The AFL coaches said they were more than happy with what Norm Minns Oval dished up for Saturday’s NAB Challenge match.
“It’s a great place to come and play local footy,” Hardwick said.
“The ground is outstanding and the crowd is vibrant and up and about. Some of the comments you hear from the bench are quite hilarious.
“It’s a fantastic place for footy, there’s no doubt.”
“I thought the North East should get a big pat on the back,” he said.
“I just think the fact we’re able to get out to regional areas is a massive plus.
"Our players enjoy the break in routine and it’s good to be able to come to the regional centres to play a game.”
Up to 11,000 people flocked to the Wangaratta Showgrounds for Saturday’s game.
