The Hoppers showed no signs of a long lay-off with Gerald O’Brien’s 25-20 proving the difference between the teams.
He edged out Kerry Boyle 25-20 to off-set the narrow losses of Steve Broad to Peter Forck 18-17 and Norm Honey to Glenn Harrison 20-19.
Commercial proved too strong for North Albury (B), winning 67-52.
Peter Smith defeated Col Dwyer 20-17 while Les Murphy accounted for Bob Gough 28-16 and David Barnes and Conan Trainor played out a thrilling 19-all draw.
Culcairn scored a convincing 76-49 win over rivals Holbrook.
Terry Hensel led the victory charge with a 27-15 win over Duane Crow while fellow skips Dave Trebley (27-18) and Jim Lee (22-16) were also comfortable winners.
