The Hansen Street office will open from 10am to midday on Saturday.
Deputy chief executive Michael Mack said WAW wanted to provide a service for those who went to Corryong to shop on Saturdays.
“Friday afternoon and Saturday morning are probably the busiest shopping times rather than, say, Tuesday mornings,” he said.
“We want to take advantage of that by having our service centre open.”
He said the trial would run for three months.
It could be broadened to branches at Beechworth, Chiltern, Myrtleford, Walla and Yackandandah if it proved successful.
WAW moved into its own branch at Yackandandah this week from space it had shared at Indigo Shire’s offices.
Mr Mack said WAW had a five-year lease with options of up to 20 years for a former High Street real estate office.
“We can now employ another staff member, install a new rediATM and provide a full-time loans officer,” Mr Mack said.
Two staff are now based at the office.
