North East traffic advisor Sen-Sgt Cameron Roberts said 1850 cyclists would converge on the road for most of tomorrow between Hotham, the High Plains, Hotham Heights, down to Omeo and the back of Falls Creek.
“Drivers need to bear in mind even if they do drive and do a quick, risky overtake there’ll be hundreds of cyclists in front of them so they need to be wary of that,” he said.
“If you’re driving a car and you don’t need to be there, don’t be there.”
It comes as police step-up patrols this long weekend focusing on speeding, drink-driving and other traffic offences.
