McCurdy scores new role in shake-up

3.25PM: North East MP Tim McCurdy has been chosen as a parliamentary secretary as part of a rejig of the Victorian Government cabinet.

The Nationals member for Murray Valley will become the parliamentary secretary for tourism and trade.

The new job, which sees Mr McCurdy, supporting the minister in the same portfolio, follows a reshuffle ordered by Premier Denis Napthine.

Mr McCurdy's fellow Nationals Tim Bull, Damian Drum and Russell Northe will become ministers as part of the shake-up.

The member for Benalla Bill Sykes, who has indicated he will retire at this year's Victorian election, will remain as parliamentary secretary for primary industry.
