Jarrett fronted Albury Local Court yesterday afternoon to plead guilty to nine of 10 charges related to his latest money- making exercise.
Solicitor Andrea MacDonald said Jarrett was reserving his plea on the remaining charge while inquiries were made over one of the phones.
A bail hearing in Albury last week heard how Jarrett, 42, of Howlong, used the classifieds section of The Border Mail from December to advertise the sale of iPhones.
Some of the advertisements were also placed online.
That led to eight people transferring sums ranging from $500 to $600 to Jarrett’s bank account.
But while Jarrett got his money, his would-be customers never got their new mobile phones.
The multiple charges of obtaining financial advantage by deception were for the months of December and January.
Jarrett’s previous fraud offences have included posing as Daniel Depp, the actor Johnny Depp’s brother, in 1997.
He also pleaded guilty in 2007 to multiple fraud charges for his efforts the previous year in impersonating American actor Skeet Ulrich.
Also included in his criminal history was a scam in Melbourne in 2009 when he pretended to be the grandson of legendary Hollywood director Alfred Hitchcock so, police believed, he could meet and seduce women.
Jarrett was accompanied to court yesterday by his mother.
Magistrate Megan Greenwood further bailed Jarrett to appear again in Albury Local Court on May 5 for sentencing.
As part of the conditions of bail she set, Jarrett must keep to a 7pm to 7am curfew and report to police.
