Summer and Jayson Ralph took over the business from John Van Lint five weeks ago.
Mr Van Lint celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Barney’s Rubble business last year, which is linked to the neighbouring Valibo Nurseries.
“I’m not getting any younger and I wanted to retire,” he said.
It won’t be the complete end of an era for Mr Van Lint as he will continue to run the nursery.
Mrs Ralph has a background in horticulture and was originally seeking a job at the nursery, before ending up buying Barney’s Rubble.
“I had a passionate husband who didn’t want to be a builder any more and we wanted to do something different,” she said.
“The atmosphere attracted us, it’s a beautiful spot that is relaxing and peaceful.”
Mrs Ralph said in the future they hoped to expand their range to include paving and bricks.
They also see a coffee shop to create a whole experience for their customers.
They have extended their trading hours and now start their day at 7.30am.
Mr Ralph said it’s a quiet time in the landscaping supply industry but he expected business to pick up in the near future.
“There are lot of great developments going on in the area and Jindera is growing,” he said.
“You can’t buy these supplies on the internet.”
