BEDE Murray knew he didn’t have to bog down leading Sydney hoop Blake Shinn with riding instructions as he legged him aboard Sankara Spirit before the $20,000 Class 3 Handicap, (1400m) at Albury yesterday.

Despite drawing the widest barrier in the 12-horse field, Murray had faith Shinn could get the job done on the $3.50-favourite.
“I just said to Blake ‘I’ve done my job, now you ride him how you want’,” Murray said.
Shinn didn’t disappoint as he produced a gem of a ride to hand Murray a double yesterday after a win earlier in the day with Chosen Song.
Yesterday’s victory was Sankara Spirit’s second career win from 16 starts.
“I think he has the scope to win in town,” he said.
“He has always been a good, honest horse.
“He has just found it that little bit hard to win.
“Tommy Berry said to me last start when he ran second at Canberra to run him over 1400 metres again and put blinkers on him.
“That was the key today.”
