ALBURY mayor Kevin Mack made sure his wife Jill was not in earshot when he offered his advice for a successful race day.
“Keep your wife on a short leash and give them a $20 budget,” he joked.
“Mine doesn’t know how to punt.”
Crs Mack and Ross Jackson were dressed in grey suits.
“Ross thought he should dress like me as he is enamoured by my presence,” Cr Mack said.
Cr Jackson was fighting for a right of reply.
“Kevin just wants to know what it’s like to be a genuine guy,” he laughed.
The councillors appeared to be behaving themselves although Cr Mack tried to coerce people into believing otherwise.
“I’ve had half a mouthful of beer,” he said.
“Ross is trying to lead me astray, I just said no to him.”
