More than 100 competitors from Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Papua New Guinea are doing battle at the Commercial Club for the title of the region’s best.
Perth’s Matthew Bolton, the world’s third-ranked amateur billiard player, and former world champion Steve Mifsud are competing.
President of the Australian Billiards and Snooker Council, Frank Dewens, said he was impressed with Albury.
“It’s been excellent here,” he said.
“The Commercial Club has been fantastic and very hospitable.
“It’s a great venue and the standard has been world class.”
The championships kicked off last week and run through until Sunday.
