Rural Fire Service Riverina manager Superintendent Roger Orr said while the cause of the blaze was still unknown, it did not appear to be suspicious.
The fire engulfed the building about 4am before volunteers and firefighters brought it under control.
The school was closed yesterday and will be closed again today before re-opening tomorrow.
Supt Orr said the quick work of those fighting the fire had save other parts of the school.
“They have done a great job in restricting the fire,” he said. “It could’ve been a whole lot worse.”
Education Department contractors spent yesterday cleaning up and installing generators to allow the school to re-open.
The department has offered counselling to affected staff and students.
