THE second and final round of the successful Skylift Summer Series for motorcycle short track racing will be held at Albury-Wodonga Motorcycle Club’s Diamond Park Circuit on the Lincoln Causeway tomorrow.
With the first round of the series cut short due to rain, extra events will be run on the day to determine the overall winners in each category.
In Junior events, 65cc and 150cc classes will be both very hotly contested, big fields will take to the track in both capacities and the youngsters only know flat out.
Senior events will feature both 250cc and 450cc capacities.
Some of the top guns missed the first round, so they will be hoping the extra events this time will provide the opportunity to make up the points they need for overall victory.
Veterans of the over 35 brigade will provide some of the most hotly contested events as they use their experience to maximum effect.
Also featuring on the program will be the spectacular three-wheel Speedway Sidecars which are fast becoming a crowd favourite at Diamond Park.
The club is hopeful of attracting some of the state’s fastest four-wheel Quad riders for their first experience of the Diamond Park track.
The major event tomorrow evening will be the second annual running of the Sam Baker Plate.
This is an invitational event featuring the top-10 riders selected from the various senior categories and is run as a show of support for club member Sam Baker who was injured in a road accident during 2012 and is still undergoing rehabilitation in Melbourne.
Riders are to sign on from 2pm.
Spectator entry is $10 a vehicle, with gates opening at 3pm.
Full catering is available.
