The woman, 22, later found bruises on her body but has no recollection of what took place in a room at the New Albury Hotel.
She felt discomfort and tenderness in her vagina and saw police, who got hotel security footage.
Three days later Timothy Jarrad Plumb, 22, attended the police station, was arrested and interviewed.
Plumb claimed sexual intercourse and two other sex acts were consensual.
He told police he had recorded what took place on his mobile phone for sexual arousal.
Plumb, of Townsville, appeared in Albury Local Court yesterday on charges of sexual intercourse without consent and filming a person in a private act without consent.
Solicitor Travis Johnson said Plumb was pleading not guilty and sought a review of his bail.
Magistrate Tony Murray, after viewing the police facts and Plumb’s record, said: “These (bail) conditions are unbelievably lenient — it is a strong prosecution case on these facts”.
The bid for a bail review was withdrawn.
Mr Murray adjourned the charges until July 14.
The court was told the woman celebrated a birthday on March 7, drank spirits and smoked ice and cannabis.
She went to Paddy’s about 11pm and Plumb later approached her on the dance floor, kissed her and they disappeared.
Her friend tried repeatedly to phone her and she was later seen with Plumb, drowsy, incoherent and intoxicated, and was unresponsive to her friend and hotel staff.
An ambulance took her to hospital for observation before she was discharged and taken home by friends.
She then noticed a graze on her shoulder and knees and bruises on her back and thighs.
She went to hospital for a forensic medical examination and then to the police.
The footage showed the woman slumped on a seat when Plumb gets a key to a room.
He helped her to start walking, she fell face first to the floor and he picked her up before guiding her up a stairwell. About an hour later, he assists her back down the stairs.
