After leading for most of the match, the Hoppers looked like squandering a golden opp-ortunity to open their winning account before McCallum stepped up and cooly slotted the ball through on the run.
Holbrook recruit Aaron Baker led the way with support from Tyson Smith, Rhett Thomson and Ethan Riddington.
Coach Zac Fulford was delighted to bounce back from last weekend’s loss to Beechworth.
“It’s a relief to get that win,” Fulford said.
“We still have things to work on but it’s a step in the right direction.
“It got tight in the finish, but thankfully we managed to hold on after the Saints played well to get back into the game in the third quarter.”
Wodonga Saints have been on a roller-coaster ride with losses to Rut-herglen and Tallangatta and a win against Chiltern.
Jayden Holt and Steve Church did well for the hosts while Deryn Harding kicked three goals.
