FIFTY kilometres, 12 white crosses, each representing a life lost and a family
forever shattered. For those driving on the stretch of freeway between Springhurst and Glenrowan over the Easter break, the crosses will be a stark reminder of the
reality of our road toll. Highway Patrol Sgt Michael Connors, pictured, sought
approval from police command and VicRoads to line the stretch of freeway with the crosses in a bid to reach out to drivers on one of the country’s busiest roads, at one of its busiest times of year. Picture: JOHN RUSSELL
