WODONGA detectives will charge an Albury man for stealing an elderly woman’s car and jewellery from her home in the city last month.

Detective acting Sgt Ian Deverell said the 22-year-old, who is in custody in NSW for other matters, was interviewed yesterday and would be charged with burglary, theft and handling stolen property for the March 4 burglary at a Wodonga home.
The elderly woman, who lives in Stott Court, was away when her 2013 red Suzuki hatch was stolen after her home was broken into and the car keys, as well as sentimental jewellery, stolen.
The Suzuki was later found dumped with a damaged wheel in Milton Street, Lavington, the next day.
Sen-Constable Deverell said the jewellery was yet to be recovered.
It comes as another car was stolen from a Wodonga street on Tuesday night and dumped and set alight at Leneva.
Sen-Constable James Oriel said a Subaru was stolen from Fletcher Court before being dumped and set on fire at Martins Road at 10.20pm.
Investigations are continuing.
