EMBRACE the cross — that’s the Easter message of Anglican minister Fay Fraser as she hosts seven services in three days.
“We need to be bold enough to talk to children about why there are crosses on top of the buns,” Ms Fraser said.
“We’re losing our spiritual knowledge and Easter reminds us to proclaim what the cross is all about.
“I liken it to a seed; when you look at it by itself nothing happens but if it falls into the ground and grows there’s new life.”
Ms Fraser presides over the parish of Yackandandah and Kiewa, hosting a Good Friday service and guiding the faithful around the Stations of the Cross.
Six crosses were erected in High Street and one at the Lutheran Church to mark Jesus’ journey from his arrest to his crucifixion.
Weekend services will be at Dederang, Kiewa, Allans Flat and Yackandandah.
