Trailing by five goals early in the final quarter, the Hoppers surged in the dying minutes with shooter Jess Fisher-Curnow making the most of several mid-court turnovers.
The clash featured some of the state’s best young talent with Fisher-Curnow on fire for North Albury and Victorian 17 and under teammates Jane Cook and Jacqui Newton staging a titanic battle at the other end of the court.
Wodonga coach Kylie Murphy said the match could have gone either way in a frenetic finish.
“It was a very physical, tight game,” Murphy said.
“We got five up, but North Albury fought back and both sides had chances to win.
“We probably didn’t capitalise on some of our chances but a draw is better than a loss I guess.
“We have been a little unsettled in the first two matches and have changed things around a bit so it might take a few weeks before we put it all together.”
Wodonga, who went into the match without Liona Edwards, played Sarah Thomas at centre for the entire match while Rebekah Ohlin and Bec Cameron also played well.
Cook shot 41 goals in another brilliant display.
“Jane was fantastic,” Murphy said.
“She shot really well while Bec Cameron did a lot of work outside the circle.”
Corowa-Rutherglen bounced back from last weekend’s disappointing performance by defeating Wodonga Raiders 52-38.
The Roos struggled for cohesion early but hit their straps in the third quarter with Simone and Caitlyn Hanrahan in the thick of the action.
Youngster Julia Clarke was best for the Raiders.
Albury remains undefeated after bringing down Wangaratta Rovers 43-27.
Tiger recruit Olivia Aughton showed why she’s rated as one of the league’s premier players by turning in a dominant performance while Stacey Emms impressed for the home team.
Lavinton dished out a 62-33 hiding to Myrtleford at McNamara Reserve yesterday and Yarrawonga edged out Wangaratta 54-50.
