Albury Central has announced the festival will return in 2015, on a larger scale, to mark completion of the redevelopment of the Albury Regional Art Gallery.
Albury Central president, Daniel Brear, said demolition and building works at the gallery had reduced access to QEII Square, potentially impacting on this year's festival.
"We know how loved Applause is, and want to assure everyone that that this is not the end of the road for the event," Mr Brear said.
He said a festival working party would be established to look at opportunities to extend the 2015 event, with the potential for an exhibition around the themes and performances of the street festival at the Art Gallery during October 2015.
Mr Brear said Applause had captured the hearts and minds of the community.
“It’s a significant event for the Albury CBD and provides a welcome boost to local business," he said.
