Paul Millynn will act as the technical director of football for the yet to be named licence holders, and says local talent was his immediate priority.
Millynn, who last week resigned from the presidency at Wodonga Diamonds, said it was critical to get the right people for the right job.
“We are looking at coaches and players,” he said.
“We need to know who is interested and who is qualified to take on the roles.
“This will be rep football week-in, week-out and a pathway to higher levels including the A-League.
“There are some football coaches who are better with seniors, others at developing juniors and still others better suited to the specially tailored academy programs.”
Millynn, who as an 18-year-old played for a regional rep side that beat a Socceroo squad that included Alex Tobin and Frank Farina, said the only job that would be broadly advertised would be the senior men’s coach.
“Obviously we want the best person to take on what will be a high pressure role and if that is someone from here well and good, if it is someone from outside then that is fine too,” he said.
Millynn’s main task will be having the group of age division and senior teams singing from the same hymn book.
“Part of this role will be to provide a policy, a playing style that is adopted at the club,” he said.
“We want a seamless transition for players through the age groups and in the senior grades.
“Effectively I will be across the entire football side of the club, leaving the business and marketing to others.”
