I do remember being made redundant at 40 and being told I would never get another full-time job, so I started my own business which is still running today.
I left the business in the early 90s and found the only work I could get was in aged care and disabilities which I worked in Melbourne and this district until I retired aged 65.
To contemplate going back to full-time work at the moment would be an anathema to me as I have lower back arthritis and diabetes and who knows what lies ahead?
So I would deduce the only reason that Hockey wants to raise the retirement age is to enable the government to pay Newstart instead of the pension to those poor unfortunates whose retirement lies in waiting.
Not good enough, I can see the end of the LNP, and the sooner the better.
