Hibberson was suspended for a week after being cited on video review for striking Myrtleford youngster Christian Burgess in round 1.
He admitted watching as the Raiders went down in a thriller was tough.
“It was definitely disappointing,” Hibberson said.
“But I’ve moved on and want to try and set the example for the younger blokes.
“I didn’t get off to a great start, obviously, but that happens and we move on.
“It was tough, but I’ve learned from it.”
The Raiders take on crosstown rival Wodonga today and Hibberson is desperate to make amends.
“It’s always a tough game that can go either way,” he said.
“It’s never mattered where either side has been on the ladder.
“It was a tough day for the boys last week but we kept fighting.
“We stayed in the game and it was winnable right to the end.
“Unfortunately, we didn’t get over the line.”
Hibberson, who will slot back into the Raiders’ midfield this afternoon, said winning the stoppages and hard ball was crucial to securing victory at John Flower Oval.
“That’s what these games are usually about,” Hibberson said.
“Hopefully we can get off to a flyer.”
Today’s clash starts just after 3pm.
