Led by a superb 25-point performance from guard Nicole Romeo, Frankston shattered the Lady Bandits’ hopes with a wire-to-wire performance at the Lauren Jackson Sports Centre.
Lady Bandits coach James Ballinger was left without explanation after his squad gave up more than 100 points in a game for the second time in a month.
“Not great, and for us, not a recipe for success,” Ballinger said.
“That’s 20-25 points too many and to give up that many offensive rebounds and to leave people that wide open makes that happen.
“We were just sloppy in general.
“We were just flat and made it easy for them.
“I’m perplexed as to why we came to the game the way we did.”
Oddly, the Lady Bandits enjoyed their best shooting performance of the SEABL season, with Montana Farrah-Seaton (18 points) and imports Emilee Harmon (16) and Rachel Maenpaa (13) all contributing at the offensive end.
“What was really puzzling is that we shot the ball well but only attempted 53 shots,” Ballinger said.
“I don’t think we’ve ever shot that well in the time I’ve been here.”
