IT seems home-grown A-League star Archie Thompson will take a pay cut to stay with Melbourne Victory.
The A-League’s all time goal scoring record holder is finished for the season after contentious refereeing decisions saw Victory out of the Asian champions league and denied the chance to take their semi-final against Brisbane into extra time.
It’s hard to imagine any fan would have seen anything but a penalty for infringements in both games.
Reports say Thompson, 35, will agree to a reduced deal to bring him inside the salary cap.
The former Twin City junior re-tweeted the report in perhaps acceptance of its veracity.
