The Salvation Army does so much for people from all walks of life.
Most of it goes unnoticed or unheralded as the Salvation Army personnel make a significant difference in the community.
The organisation provides a viable alternative for women and children trapped in violent domestic relationships often centred around alcohol abuse.
Many women remain with their partners because they believe they have nowhere to go.
But emergency accommodation provided by the Salvos along with refuges now provide an alternative for women and children in times of need.
The annual Red Shield appeal for the Salavation Army was launched in the Albury area on Saturday.
Hopefully people on both sides of the Border dig deep when people coming knocking for money on May 24 and 25.
It is estimated the Salvation Army will help about one million people in the coming 12 months.
The Salvation Army needs money and volunteers, so please help.
