In a trademark display, Albury dominated the hapless Saints at McNamara Reserve.
With Setanta O’hAilpin booting 13 goals and Brayden O’Hara, Joel Mackie, Dean Polo and Chris Hyde dominating in the midfield, Myrtleford simply didn’t stand a chance.
Bryce Carroll, Luke Packer, John Mitchell and Dougal Howard also came under notice.
The Tigers had scored 100 points by half-time on the back of a whopping 40 inside 50s in the first half.
Albury co-coach Daniel Maher said it was hard to fault his team’s effort.
“It’s probably as clean as we’ve been all year,” Maher said.
“We moved the footy well and started well, which is something we haven’t really done this year.
“We felt that was important, especially up there, because you don’t want Myrtleford getting a bit of momentum up there.
“Everything just clicked.”
The Tigers remain unbeaten after six rounds, with five wins and a draw.
They play Wodonga Raiders, Wodonga and Wangaratta after the interleague bye.
In a blow, Luke Daly (groin) and Justin Carey (suspected face fracture) look unlikely to play in round 7 after suffering injuries on Saturday.
Joel O’Connell was concussed.
Myrtleford co-coach Leigh Corcoran was the Saints’ best player.
He’s been pushing into the midfield while fellow co-coach Brad Murray sits on the sidelines with a hamstring strain.
Murray said the Saints were simply outclassed on Saturday.
“They’re a pretty impressive side,” Murray said.
“They’ve got class across ground and it’s hard to match up on.
“We’ve got a few out, which hurts us, but we’ll learn from that.
“We were good in patches.”
Myrtleford is yet to win a game this year and has a crunch clash with fellow battler Wodonga straight after the bye.
