A REVAMPED website and a project on waterways will be funded as part of Wodonga Council’s latest funding for arts and cultural organisations.

Albury Wodonga Artists Society was one of six recipients and plans to develop its website with the $2000 grant.
“We will use the money to update and maintain our website,” society president Nancy Robinson said.
“Part of the money will also go towards promotion of our workshops and exhibitions at our Paintbox Studio on the Gateway Village.”
Other recipients were Arts Wodonga, Albury-Wodonga Eisteddfod, The Other Theatre Company, Kage Theatre and Murray Arts, of which Melanie Ruth is an auspice artist.
Ms Ruth welcomed the grant to fund Cool Relief, a community art project that will involve English as a second language students from Albury Wodonga Community College and TAFEspace.
The two-part project will involve students visiting the Murray River and Wodonga Creek where they will draw pictures and tell stories that will later be displayed at Wodonga library.
A second part will involve art workshops.
Wodonga mayor Rod Wangman congratulated recipients on their initiative and commitment.
“Events and cultural activities ... are a great way for residents to own, design and execute diverse and relevant opportunities for participation, celebration and engagement,” he said.
