Wodonga’s Huon Hill Tavern will open for soccer fans in coming weeks — set to show each morning’s game from Brazil, starting with the Socceroos v Chile on Saturday.
Sunday morning is another blockbuster, with England up against the Azzurri from Italy.
Operations manager Leon Kowski is expecting a big crowd for Australia’s opening game.
“We wanted to make Huon Hill the home of the world game during the World Cup,” he said.
“We’ll open up the function room and use the big screen.
“We are open every morning for breakfast so it’s a natural extension of that — we are expecting a good crowd for the Socceroos’ first pool match.
“We are even going to have a special — the Huon Dog — to mark the occasion.”
