The national president of the Association of Ind-ependent Retirees, Max Barton, pictured, gave a talk at the Albury Library Museum.
Albury-Wodonga branch secretary Linda Martin said Mr Barton’s talk helped members better plan for the next 10 years of their retirement.
“It is better to have some idea of what we are facing and his research will be as good as any other speaker on this subject,” Miss Martin said.
“The visit could not come at a better time after the handing down of the budget.
“The association put out a special federal budget issue of its newsletter and now is the time for a more considered discussion.”
Mr Barton also sought out feedback from those attending yesterday.
