About a dozen volunteers from the New Life Chapel received $2180 in donations from motorists at the weekend.
Youth pastor Lendel Bakes said the funds would go towards September’s Youth Alive school tour.
“We’re partnering with World Vision and the Band No Limits to tour public and private schools,” she said.
“It’s spreading a message of how young people can impact outside their community, on a global level, through things like World Vision.
“It’s encouraging people to think outside the world they live in and be more aware of the world around them.”
Ms Bakes was happy with the fund-raiser.
“It’s a wonderful thing because we get no funding,” she said.
“Something like this goes a long way and is a real blessing to our cause.”
