While the slopes are still fairly bare, resort operators hope for plenty of snowfalls, with the Bureau of Meteorology predicting snow showers every day for at least five days from Friday.
Falls Creek Ski Lifts staff member Anthony O’Shea said: “We’re ready for the onslaught ... bring it on!”
A snow dump and colder weather is forecast for Monday and staff hope the mountains will be covered by the start of school holidays.
