A TRUCK driver was flown to Melbourne critically injured after his vehicle crashed into a tree between Holbrook and Woomargama on Sunday night.

The 48-year-old from Shepparton was trapped in the cabin after it was crushed.
He was driving south about 8.45pm when he veered off the Hume Highway and hit a large tree near Bendemeer Lane, police said.
Suffering fractures and cuts, he was taken to Albury hospital and later flown to The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne.
Yesterday his condition was critical but stable.
Police are investigating how the crash happened.
