Motorists say two cars have collided near the Spirit of Progress bridge, causing southbound traffic to bank up right back to Borella Road.
A ute towing a trailer has also come off the road further north.
The congestion has been further hampered by roadworks that have blocked off one lane near the Bandiana Link.
