Staff went head-to-head with their colleagues at the Albury store in an effort to see who could collect the most aluminium cans and scrap metal to be recycled for money.
The battle was in aid of the Cans-for-Cancer campaign, a Relay for Life fund-raising initiative of Border woman Sharyn Waldron.
“It’s been very successful since starting earlier this year when we got the community on board,” she said.
The campaign snowballed and it was not long before businesses jumped on board.
Bunnings Wodonga staff member Jade Whittaker suggested the challenge between the Border stores.
Rachel Curtis from the Albury store hoped to win the perpetual trophy next year.
